Or were I in the wildest waste,
ResponderExcluirSae bleak and bare, sae bleak and bare,
The desert were a paradise
If thou wert there, if thou were there
(Robert Burns)
Thank you for the lovely words. One year in the marvellous city would not have been nearly as marvellous without your company. You have always been near to share the cultural delights, to give solace in times of need, and share many a happy (and drunken!) moment. And now, why should distance matter? Conte sempre comigo tambem.
And at New Year when the Scots link arms and sing in honour of their good friends with the verses of the poet Robert Burns, you will be top of my list:
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o' auld lang syne.
